Text: Jeremiah 42 vs 13-14.
"But if you say , we will not remain in your own land, disobeying the voice of the LORD your GOD and saying, No, we will go to the land of Egypt, where we shall not see war, or hear the sound of the trumpet, or be hungry for bread, and we will dwell there."
Egypt is the land in which the Israelites were held in slavery before God delivers them.
It is the kind of life you lived before you met Jesus Christ and accepted him as your Lord and Saviour.
It is certain that as a believer in Christ you will pass through some trials, persecutions, temptations and tough times and it seems to you that your situation is even better before you met Christ or those who are not in Christ or those who are compromising seems to be enjoying while you that stands for God is encountering trials.
In these times you may feel like compromising or going back to your Egypt.
Nevertheless, never compromise but rather endure because after your time of trial is gone you will shine forth as Gold. The trial is making you better and stronger. Obey God and trust in him and you will see that the LORD IS GOOD. Never allow the devil to deceive, encamp or enslave you anymore.
Ask God for grace to stand.
