BEING THE TEXT OF A PRESS STATEMENT BY THE NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF NIGERIAN STUDENTS (NANS) EKITI STATE AXIS ON STATE OF EKITI STATE UNIVERSITY, ADO EKITI, TODAY MONDAY 15TH JANUARY 2018.

The National Association of Nigerian Students being the apex body of Nigerian students studying across all campuses in higher institutions of learning in Nigeria, seize this opportunity to address and update the general public on the State of Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti.
It is no more news and not arguable that Ekiti State University remains one of the fastest growing University across the globe.
Firstly, we seize this opportunity to appeal to ASUU EKSU chapter to embrace dialogue in her quest for the payment of the salary arrears of her workers, as dialogue Haas been the last option in resolving such matters over time, even after embarking on strike action(s), dialogue has always been the end point for resolving such issues.
Considering the fact that our students has always been at the receiving end due unstable academic calendar.
It is necessary at this point to also call on the State Government to as a matter of urgency assist all state institutions with more funding by making their subvention available as at when due.
Furthermore, after so much consultations and findings, we extend our hands of fellowship to the caretaker committee of the Ekiti State University Students Union (EKSU-SU), we also urge all comrades to support the committee so as to give us a peaceful, free & fair election as soon as possible.
We commend the Vice Chancellor of EKSU for his open door policy, and for giving maximum attention to students welfarism at all time.
We implore the entire student to take a chill and embrace peace as the leadership of the association shall defend their interest intellectually, in a way devoid of unnecessary conflict.
We shall continually embrace and uphold the 3C's of agitation (Consultation, Consolidation and Confrontation).
