Teaching Without Stripes

I did my first edition of practical teaching in my Alma Mata, on Agidimo hills.
Some reasons couldn't let me return to the mountain for the second edition.

I taught my students successfully last year without using a cane on them, this year either I'm almost done, I've not touched any of my students with a cane, and without the cane I do have rapt attention and concentration from a reasonable percentage of students in my class, and you'd listen to a pin drop,in the class.

Many of my comtemporaries use cane on the students, but I believe my students aren't a face of a snaredrum to be handled with sticks.

I have so far realised that beating students is not a teaching aid nor a catalyst in learning,it might on the longrun kill the great prospect inside the child, that the child will wait for your cane for his mistakes and wouldn't learn consequently.

At a point in time when I was in Christ's school, I spent much time on the hills of Agidimo,as a truant, absconding teachers and seniors as a result of the mental expectancy of beating after wrong deeds, the beating awakened the truant and the beast in me,I didn't step into the dinning hall for a complete term and didn't enter my hostel in daylight, lecture theatres and classrooms were my rooms for many a couple of years, all that to avoid beating.

Kids could be provoking, but the older people who are our friends or older persons provokes us more, and I don't beat my friends when they piss me off, or my Dad when he doesn't do what I want, I make them know it and let it go.

We don't have to use age or situation as an advantage on younger people.
Of course, the students do stupid things, and I'd immidiately tell them to stand up for some while or give them marching orders out of the class for few minuites, and when they realise their wrong deed, and see themselves apart from the whole class,I'd retrieve the order.

Through that,dreams will become realities.
