Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has criticized President Muhammadu Buhari for attending the wedding ceremony of Governor Abdullahi Ganduje’s daughter, Hajiya Fatima and her groom, Idris Ajimobi.
Fayose feels the president should be more concerned about the tragedies unfolding in different parts of Nigeria, especially in the North.
“I’m of the opinion that President Buhari should visit Dapchi where 110 school girls were abducted by Boko Haram.Kano is not far from Yobe State.
“The other time, he was in Nasarawa State, but didn’t visit its next door neighbour, Benue where over 70 people were killed by herdsmen,” the Governor wrote on Twitter.
The event which took place in Kano on Saturday, saw Buhari and 22 Governors in attendance.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) were also present.
Buhari, who stood for the groom, gave out the N50,000 dowry to Ahmed Bola Tunubu, who represented the bride at the occasion.
The wedding proceedings were conducted by the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi II and supported by the Chief Imam of Kano, Prof. Sani Zaharaddeen.
