If the Lord decides to show mercy,
Who can protest ?
If he determines to be compassionate,
What man can have such deprived ?
If the Spirit of God validates a vessel,
Who can chuck such away?
Suppose his right hand leads a man,
What can frail men make of him?
If the Lord could choose a shepherd-boy ;
Whose humble heart on him is truly fixed,
Tho men of Gath pride in their somatic stature,
Who can victory decide except his power ?
But whoever Elohim rejects,
Where else can such be helped?
If the LORD in his fiery anger judges a city;
Which court of men would appeal?
It is vain to work without a consistent walk,
The meekest on earth, still Canaan missed'
It shows how horrible man 'd be, without your help,
Yet, If the Lord decides to show mercy,
Who can protest ?
