Facts to know on MALARIA

It is another opportunity to get some facts on the most endemic infection in Some aspect of Africa, central America, south America and southern Asia. The vector /carrier of this deadly infection  is small but mighty - Mosquito. Malaria infection has become a normal occurrence in some parts of the world.

As rampant as malaria is, it can be prevented and treated without stress.

The germ that causes Malaria is called Plasmodium spp. There are brands of this pathogen;  they are: Plasmodium Falciparum (the most virulent); plasmodium malariae (the less virulent); plasmodium ovale; Plasmodium vivax among others.


These pathogens have different ways of managing them, hence, proper diagnosis and treatment is needed beside self-medication.

Signs and symptoms include fever (intermittent), chills, muscle pain, loss of appetite, yellowish eye ectecera.

Preventive measures include:
Sleep under an Insecticide Treated Net
Avoid water lodge around your residence
Ensure a clear and clean environment
Prophylaxis should be encourage when exposed to the infection. Etc.

Medical treatment include the use of Aminoquinolone, Artemisin-based Combine Therapy (ACT), antimetabolites, antibiotics...
