American Idol contestant Ben Isaac Glaze didn’t feel comfortable when
Katy Perry gave him his first kiss after his outstanding performance on
the show. A lot of people considered the action a form of sexual harassment, but the contestant has come out to defend the celebrity.
Drama started last Sunday after Katy gave Glaze his first-ever kiss during his audition and many people felt it was all awkward.
On
Wednesday, Glaze spoke with the New York Times, admitting that he was
“was a tad bit uncomfortable” with the kiss, adding, “I wanted to save
it for my first relationship. I wanted it to be special…Would I have
done it if she said, ‘Would you kiss me?’ No, I would have said no.”
This
statement earned Katy Perry and the show hosts major backlash, but
seeing how Katy Perry was being dragged on social media, Glaze took to
his Instagram to clarify his statement, writing,
The difference between extraordinary and ordinary is excellence. Outstanding individuals are distinguished by an absolute sense of determination and mission.
