SOUTHERN NIGERIAN YOUTH CONGRESS CALLS ON THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT TO INTESIFY EFFORT ON YOUTH EMPOWERMENT AND EMPLOYMENT.
The leadership of the Southern Nigerian Youth Congress (SNYC) has called on the Federal Government of Nigeria to intensify effort on youth empowerment and employment, saying the high rate of youth unemployment is the major cause of the problems facing the economy of the country.
Speaking in an interview with #MagNews, the National President Of Southern Nigerian Youth Congress Hon. Famuyibo Oluwasegun said the Federal Government should find a lasting solution to the high unemployment rate in Nigeria.
'Nigeria is a very rich country, God has given her so many natural resources to feed and bank on as a nation.
It is very disheartening the rate at which Nigerian youths walk and roam about the street doing nothing, even after having good grades in school.
Even those that learn how to trade or skill acquisition skills does not have the needed capital of fund to start up their business.
As such, it is important that the Federal Government creates a very enabling environment for youths, most especially youths from the Southern region, as they are the ones who have the needed requirements to boost the economic situation of the country'.
In the Southwest you will find youths at their early 30s with PhD, various degrees with excellent grades.
In the South/South and Southeast you will find youths that are good in making various materials like, leather shoes, bags etc.
So if the Federal Government can invest on this, our youths will get something doing and crime rate will reduce drastically, he said.
