International Youth Day

*INTERNATIONAL YOUTH DAY; SNYC URGES FG TO DEVELOP THE SOUTHERN REGION* .

12th August 2018.

Today marks the beginning of another journey for youths across the globe, this gives us another opportunity to review the activities of the youth over the last 365 days and also chart a way forward for the next one year.

Focusing on the Nigeria mentality, the youths are set of unproductive elements that knows nothing but to cause havoc in every way possible or at any given opportunity.

To us at the Southern Nigerian Youth Congress (SNYC), the Nigerian Youth is a knowledgeable person between the age of 18 to 35, who is ready to affect his or her environment positively.

We cannot deny the fact that many Nigerian Youths have distinguished themselves by doing exploits in their various fields of endeavor, this has of course changed the notion of many other countries on the character of an average Nigerian Youth.

Having done well in various fields such as Music, Filming, Fashion, Construction, Enterpreneur and many more, it is time for the leaders of Nigeria to give Youths the needed space to participate fully in the Governance of Nigeria.

Again, we are calling on Government at all levels to as a matter of urgency take the development of the Southern region of Nigeria as a priority, as the development of Southern Nigeria will go a long way in boosting the economy of our beloved country Nigeria, as the neglect of the Southern region has cause the country a lot of setback.

Furthermore, it is also imperative to charge ourselves as youths to shun violence and abstain from any illegal activities that can further damage the good reputation of the Nigerian Youth as we focus  and channel our activities on giving our beloved country (Nigeria) the needed leadership acumen it deserve.

As youths we shall continue to embrace peace, dialogue and intellectual criticism in making sure youth development and empowerment in taking as a priority in Nigeria.
