He knows the times we felt like listening to the walls,
The times we know not which way to go,
Although, we felt it wasn't loneliness,
Yet, we couldn't attribute it to a mind's wellness,
When we needed to keep up with our daily tasks,
But, our ecstasy in gross disequilibrium,
The smiles behind our tears,
Even the tears behind our smiles,
He sees them all,
He knows when we leapt so high in faith,
Even when we got sunk in unbelief,
When we stood here and there, all alone,
Again to answer the question of PURPOSE,
He didn't change position, He sees them all,
When our patients needed some help we couldn't proffer,
The times we pretend its never our concern,
Other times our hearts cried out uncontrollably,
When we stood in gap on our knees,
Or when we prolonged their illness with our deeds,
He yet sees it all,
Those times we watch our patient lying,
In need, our heart says quietly,
But Why me, our body replies out swiftly,
When our patients anticipate our resumption,
Or when it made no difference to them at all,
He stands so high enough, He sees them ALL,
Our desire to establish a difference,
But the uncertainties that has watered our souls,
Sometimes we thought it wasn't all about the profession,
Other times we yell we shouldn't have been here,
We aren't alone: The Lord sees them all,
He yet tells Nurses just "ONE THING"
Draw near unto me: And I will draw unto you,
We are as close to him as we choose to be.
Beyond the profession,
Beyond the practise,
Beyond the payment,
Beyond the prestige,
There is an ultimate responsibility,
To care for the Spirit, Soul and Body.
The Lord calls for such Nurses,
Not by qualifications,
But by submission and yieldedness to him,
Lord, WE Surrender,
Our Lives, work, family and ALL,
Our heart says, use us your glory, and yours Alone.
This I believe: cannot be Inspected,
Auscultated,
Palpated, or
Percussed,
Its definitely beyond the STETHOSCOPE.
