"Because your heart was penitent and you humbled yourself before God when you heard his words against this place and its inhabitants, and you have humbled yourself before me, and have rent your clothes and wept before me, I also have heard you, says the LORD."
Text: 2Chronicles 34 vs 27.
Josiah was a king that received a message from God concerning the evil that his people committed and its consequences which is to come.
He trembles at the word of God and humbled himself before God and seek for God's mercy.
God honours and values a man that trembles before him at his rebuke and seeks to make an amendment.
A penitent heart is what any believer should have if he or she wants to live a life that pleases God.
It is certain that we will surely make a mistake or have shortcomings in one way or the other in our Christian journey but we should never make those mistakes our destiny or lifestyle.
Many believers hears or studies the Holy Scriptures and they tend to overlook those places where the messages of rebuke lies because they are victim of such sins.
The truth is that our shortcomings(Sins)does not affect God but we ourselves and the consequences are not pleasant at all.
Therefore, lets hearken and act to Gods rebuke with a penitent heart and amend our ways. It only makes you better not worst or the same.
