Living a Victorious Life

SPIRITUAL PASSAGE: "12 Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love  Him." - James 1:12

People of God, You are all welcome into the ember month and I pray the Lord Jehovah will see us through the year in Jesus name. Many believed that evil happenings often occur during the ember months which is not true. As believers we are more than conqueror and we must ensure that our mentality is always positive no matter what. Here are three (3) keys to live a victorious life:

(1) Perseverance. A scholar Dr G. Campbell Morgan tells of a man whose shop burned to the ground. The next morning he set up shop in the middle of the charred ruins and put up a sign that read; ‘Everything lost except wife, children and hope – business as usual tomorrow morning.’ So, get back up again! ‘Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life.’

2) Purpose. Helen Keller wrote, ‘Many persons have the wrong idea of what constitutes true happiness.

Brethren, Purpose is not attained through self-gratification, but through fidelity to a worthy purpose.’ Jesus said, ‘…the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve…’ (Mark 10:45), Don’t pray for a generous heart, practice being generous and your heart will fall into line with your actions. As long as you are a sower, God will give you seed (2 Cor 9:10 ).

(3) Perspective. Your disappointment may turn out to be God’s appointment. ‘In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.’ (Pro 16:9). Remember how an oyster makes a pearl? When a grain of sand gets into its shell, the oyster wraps it in layer after layer of beauty until a pearl is formed. The poet wrote: ‘This tale has a moral, for isn’t it grand, what a oyster can do with a morsel of sand? And what couldn’t we do, if we’d only begin, with some of the things that get under our skin.’ Have the right perspective.

Try to see God at work in what you are going through today! So, it is time for us to be positive in our thoughts as we enjoy the ember months so as for us to live a victorious life!

SOULMEAL: Philippians 2:5-11, Revelation 19:11-16, Acts 3:1-16, Matt 1:18-21.

Pray: 1. Lord I thank God for the grace to know the Truth. 2. Lord I ask for the insight, strength and the power to continue to live a victorious life in Jesus name. Amen.

CONFESSION: Lord Jesus, I receive grace to always hearken to your voice, devil I resist you and your voice from now on, I receive power to be spiritually sensitive to the things of God, Lord because you are the Lord that knoweth all things; I am empowered to always live a victorious life in Jesus mighty name. Amen
